Celebrating Galentine's Day
The Moultonborough Women’s Club celebrated Galentine's Day at their February meeting. Members came together to enjoy an afternoon filled with delicious food, heartfelt conversations and fun! A beautifully presented buffet, featuring savory appetizers and delectable desserts, was prepared by the February hostesses. Tables were adorned with colorful decorations that conveyed warmth and friendship. And no celebration is complete without photos to treasure the memories. A special photo booth, manned by Tina Middlebrook captured the moments. A special thank you to our February hostesses and to Mary Bishop and her team for making this event so special.
Peg Young, a long-time member of the club, was honored at the meeting. Peg will turn 97 this month and plans to “keep going”! In years past, Peg owned and managed fabric shops, then used her wonderful and creative talents to sew draperies, cushions, and specialized fabric custom orders for Home Comfort and many area residents. Peg has knit hundreds of hats and mittens for local children and has been a generous contributor to the MVSB Mitten Tree. She has been an active participant in Dress A Girl, bringing dignity to women around the world, sewing over 100 pieces. Over the course of 50+ years, Peg has been an integral part of the Moultonborough Women’s Club and is warmly appreciated for her commitment.
Sally Bartlett, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the M’Boro Library and new MWC member, introduced Brittany Durgin, Library Director, as the February speaker. Brittany was named the 2025 Library Director of the Year by the New Hampshire Library Trustees Assoc. and spoke of the many services the library provides. Their vision for the future, involving all ages, brings the Moultonborough community together. Check out moultonboroughlibrary.org for more information on the programs available.
Whether you're a long-time member or new to the area, celebrating with the MWC offers a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create lasting relationships with amazing women. As the club continues to grow, so too does the spirit of friendship and community that defines it.
