The Club was organized in 1950 through the efforts of Mrs. Elizabeth Lamprey to provide the members opportunities for socialization, education and support to the community through unity and the power to do good.

Monthly Meetings
General Meetings are traditionally held at the Moultonborough Function Hall, formerly the Lions Club, on Old Rt. 109 unless otherwise noted. Members arrive no earlier than 1:30PM for social time and enjoy a variety of fruit, veggies, cheeses and, of course, desserts. Our speaker presentation will begin at 2:00PM and a business meeting follows until 3:30PM. Guests are welcome, please refer to ARTICLE VIII – Guests on page 47. Members will be notified by email if there are changes in scheduling.
Included in the president’s “General Meeting Reminder” emails each month is an RSVP link in which members indicate whether or not they are able to attend the meeting. Please respond in a timely manner each month. RSVPs may also be made on the website by clicking “Meeting RSVP” in the top right corner.
Inclement Weather Policy: If schools close in Moultonborough due to weather, there will be no Club meeting that day. MWC meetings will be rescheduled to the following day. If school is cancelled for multiple days, the Club meeting will be on the first day school is back in session. If Moultonborough schools have a delayed start due to weather, the MWC meeting will take place as scheduled. Check the MWC website for updates. (Refer to Channel 9 WMUR TV or WASR 1420 Radio for school announcements. You can also access the school’s website www.sau45.org.)
It is expected that during the year each member will serve as hostess; this includes helping to set up the room for the meeting, making coffee and providing fruit, cheese, appetizer or dessert for all to enjoy. Members sign up for a month or are assigned. If you are unable to participate on your month, it is your responsibility to find a substitute and to notify the Hospitality Chairperson. After the General Meeting each month, the next month’s hostesses will meet to discuss the setup and theme for the following month.

If you have any ideas for future activities, please contact an Activities Committee member.

If for some reason you cannot make it after registration, you can send a member to your place to fill the vacancy or contact the Activities Committee Chair and they will do their best to fill your spot with no guarantee. Your payment reserves your spot. Please understand these events are prepaid in advance in order to book the event. Space is always limited and sells out fast, so sign up quickly. All activities are for MEMBERS ONLY unless otherwise stated.
Accomplishments
The Moultonborough Women’s Club was founded in 1950 by Elizabeth Lamprey with 27 charter members. The mission was to improve the social development of its members and, through unity, to become a power for good in the community.
Through the years, the club has supported the town, Moultonborough students and children and a multitude of local organizations. Providing scholarships for Moultonborough students has been our primary focus; since 1960 we have awarded over $237,000 to deserving Moultonborough students. Our members have raised over $181,000 for the American Cancer Society by participating in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Each year we donate to local charities and our “Charity of the Month” supports organizations such as the Sunshine Cart at the NH Veteran’s Home, The Children’s Christmas Trust, Waypoint and charities that support our monthly speakers.
Throughout its existence, the Club has supported local sports teams, purchased playground equipment, car seats, books for the school and library, transported children to fluoride treatments and participated in town parades. The Club also periodically donates the flag that flies over the library, maintains the garden by Town Hall and so much more.
Over the past 75 years, MWC has worked hard to live up to the mission set forth by our founders and our focus of friendship, service and community.
