The Moultonborough Women’s Club’s November seminar highlighted financial planning, wills and trusts. Laconia’s Susan Chisholm, Esq. spoke at this month’s meeting emphasizing wise planning for the future. She provided a wealth of valuable information about the importance of estate planning no matter what your age or financial position, describing several valuable planning documents, recent legislation that affects estate planning, information about trusts, estate taxes, probate and more. Her discussion generated many questions and much interest. Thank you, Susan, for your informative discussion.
The MWC is looking forward to celebrating the December meeting with a “festive sweater” event, an assortment of holiday treats provided the hostess committee and in the spirit of the holiday, a traditional singalong lead by Deb Kumpf. The Waypoint program (formerly Child and Family Services) and the Moultonborough Children’s Christmas Fund (which provides Moultonborough children with toys, games, winter coats and boots, winter clothing and grocery gift cards) are the designated gift organizations for December. Ornaments are available on the Wish Tree in the library for the Children’s Fund, please call the library at 603-476-8895 if you have any questions. The MWC participation in Meredith Village Savings Bank’s Mitten Tree continues as knitters and crocheters led by Janet Schurko have been working diligently throughout the year to provide warm hats, scarves and mittens for the event.
A wish for a very happy Thanksgiving to all!

“Wear your PINK” was the call out from Deb Kumpf and Nancy McDonough as the Moultonborough Woman’s Club team gathered on a warm October afternoon for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Sixteen walkers collected over $7,200 in donations last month for the American Cancer Society, making this ambitious group the 7th highest fundraising team in all New Hampshire for this year. Over the last 25 years, club members have raised over $148,000 for this worthy cause. Thank you to Nancy and Deb for your dedication to this worthy cause and to this year’s walkers GO PINK!
